This isn't ' The Irishman, Henry V, The Shape of water, The Green Book' or any other thought provoking Academy Award nominated movie. What it is, it's a SOLID GOOD TIME from start to finish.
People bang on Bay for not doing thought provoking statement making movies, overusing Dutch cuts, and recycling leftover film footage from past movies. I say ' SO WHAT ' and he says so himself. I'm not in the business to make those movies. I make adrenaline fueled action movies that are fun to watch. br> When I watch movies sometimes I want to think, but other times I want to check my brain at the door, suspend all disbelief, and allow myself to be hyper intoxicated by big budget action porn. Bay rarely disappoints. This movie he fills the car with jet fuel and cuts the brake line at Daytona.
I pray Netflicks stays the course they have this past year and treats us to more movies and shows of this caliber. This is a movie they could turn into a homegrown franchise like ' Fast and Furious ' without the semi niche of a audience of car enthusiasts.
I would have easily paid to see in the theater without question, and would not have left feeling disappointed after doing so.
